The "Impisu Tower", isolated from the surroundings, is located on the steep slope, in the middle of the cost on the north-western ridge. Its structure is defined as "camillineaus" from the name of the architect Camillo Camilliani that built several towers in 1583, by order of the King with the aim to fortify the coasts against the pirates. It has a square plant and few and simple internal division and a tank for collecting rainwater. Through the outdoor masonry staircase, built afterwards, you can reach the terrace. Because of its high, it has to be connected to the towers of Bonagia and Monte S. Giuliano and, probably, also with the tower of Isulidda, on the Cofano Gulf. It has recently been renewed. In the past, there were three guards per each tower.
