Custonaci
Custonaci is the marble city and it is the first marble basin of Sicily and the second in Italy and in Europe.
The city is near the Mountain Cofano Natural Reserve, with untainted marine bays and from there you can find one of the best view in all San Vito. You can also find all the traditional elements and customs of the early 20th century in the Mangiapane Cave during Christmas time (Presepe Vivente) and also in August (Museo vivente). At Summer time you cannot miss the celebration in honour of the Madonna di Custonaci, with the landing in the sea of a copy of the most important painting of the Virgin. The original painting is kept in the homonymous sanctuary.
